Contest Mechanics
1. This is open for students who have a talent of drawing and painting from grade 5 to grade 8.
Who are living and studying in different schools in the town of Balungao Pangasinan. This contest is exclusively for schools within Balungao Pangasinan (public or private).
2. Registration begins on May 20, 2019 to May 31, 2019. You may register in person at Kapitan Kabute 2nd Floor Sanjeevae Bldg, Poblacion Balungao Pangasinan beside Balungao Public Market.

The entry of artwork can be submitted on June 15, 2019.
Awarding of winners shall be on June 22, 2019.
3. The contestant’s artwork shall be painted on a landscape 20” x 16” illustration board, using any brand of oil pastels and paint colors.
4. The theme of the contest is “Kabataan iligtas ang Kalikasan” (Youth saves our nature). The artwork must answer how youth can contribute to save our nature through an artwork?
5. No signatures, names, or other identifying marks should appear at either side of the material of the entry.
6. The winner shall be judged with the following criteria:
Originality – 30%
Creativity – 30%
Relevance to the Theme (30%)
Neatness of Art Work (10%)
Total: 100%

* Creatively use its personal medium, imaginative, or unique way
*use of oil pastels/paint colors shows original concept

7. All entries shall be judged by the following:
Yllang Montenegro
Studied fine arts majored in Interior Design at University of the East Caloocan City. She owns a studio – Yllang Artworks, an active book illustrator, designer, layout artist, writer and editor registered with the National Book Development Board. She is also the President of Batis AWARE (Association of Women in Action for Rights and Empowerment. She also founded Empowerment Through Art (E.T.A) and a member of KASIBULAN (Kababaihan para sa Bagong Sibol na Kamalayan) an all women artist’s organization of the Philippines.

The panel of judges reserves the right to disqualify any artworks to poor quality, incompleteness, poor taste, inappropriateness of content, or concerns copyright infringement in the original work. Copyright Law Any artwork that depicts copyrighted images will be rejected. For example, no artworks depicting characters from television shows, movies, video games, or books will be accepted. All artworks must be original ideas and created entirely by the student.
8. Prizes:
First Prize : P1,500.00
Second Prize : P1,000.00
Third Prize : P500.00
Fourth Prize : P500.00
9. Winning artworks shall become the properties of KAPITAN KABUTE and may be used for the use of advocacy and promotions materials. Non-winning artworks can voluntarily donate it to Kapitan Kabute.
10. Major winner’s artworks will be posted in KAPITAN KABUTE’s store, will be used for advocacy, promotion materials and posted in a social media.
